What Are the Most Popular Parks to See Redwoods?

Redwood trees grow in the coastal forests, along the Pacific coast, from 15 miles north of the California-Oregon border to their southern most boundary, in the Big Sur area of California. The Redwood tree experts all seem to agree the Redwood parks located in northern California offer the best areas for viewing, and walking among the centuries old Redwood trees.

Jedidiah Smith Redwood State Park, the most northerly located of the parks, is very near Crescent City. Autos are able to drive completely through the center of this park on a Redwood lined road.

A short drive farther south takes tourists directly to Del Norte Woods, with many turn outs for viewing, and hiking trails for the more adventurous.

Next, Prairie Creek Redwoods Park, an old growth grove, with several Redwood lined hiking trails.

Redwood National Park should be next on a must-see list featuring: Lady Bird Johnson Grove which can be visited after a short five minute walk that is suitable, for seniors, or toddlers.

Humboldt Redwoods and Rockefeller Forest, showcases the Avenue Of The Giants with tall, gigantic, Redwoods. Some of the oldest Redwoods known to man still grow here.
